About Leah Whitmire, MA, MT-BC, LMHC
Leah Whitmire is a native Arkansan who began her vocational journey studying music performance on saxophone, yoga, and wholistic health practices. Over time, a deeper call to study music and psychology led her to pursue her Bachelor's in Music Therapy and become board-certified as a music therapist.
After her internship in Creative Music Therapy at the Center for Discovery in Monticello, New York, Leah began working as a music therapist with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Indianapolis, Indiana. After some soul searching, she decided to stay in Indiana and continue to pursue her career and vocational goals. She completed her Master's in music therapy and advanced training in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music.
As Leah continued on her career path, she realized she wanted to gain more knowledge in depth psychology practices and counseling, and she found an opportunity to do so with Christian Theological Seminary's clinical mental health counseling program, with its focus on psychoanalytic and spiritually integrated counseling.
Leah is currently working in private practice in Indianapolis, Indiana, serving adults with mental health and wellness needs with a focus on personal transformation through arts-based imagery work and trauma healing. Leah continues to train in work that integrates altered states of consciousness, dreamwork, and psychedelic therapy, and looks forward to continuing to expand her offerings in these areas.
